the art

in my fantasies i paint like one of the pre-raphaelite masters; in reality i paint nothing like them. i paint exactly like me, only slower. i work mostly in oils, but occasionally dabble in other mediums like collage and quilting and block prints; gotta watch out for those carving tools though, can't tell you how many grooves i have gouged into my fingers and furniture. when i am suffering from a creative dry spell or am irritated with the world, i like to play at being an impressionist using only microsoft paint. something about the limitations of the program appeals to me -- it is the lowest tech in a high tech medium.
